As a veterinarian's office, we see firsthand that many pet's health problems are caused by obesity. Because this is such an easily avoidable issue, we are glad to talk about proper pet nutrition with you. It is very important that your furry family member establishes good eating and exercise habits early on and continues them throughout his or her life.
Always remember not to over feed your pet! Pet obesity can have serious consequences on your pet's health. Being overweight increases your pet's risk for diabetes, heart disease, joint problems, complications from anesthesia, and may decrease your pet's life expectancy by one to two years. Feeding your pet the right kind and amount of appropriate pet food from the first day he or she joins your family will help to prevent these serious health problems.
The DPC Veterinary Hospital staff are proud to offer nutritional counseling to each of our valued clients. We strive to educate each owner on the individualized needs of their pet. Our clinic conveniently stocks a wide range of prescription pet food from the reputable brands Hill's Science Diet, Purina, and Royal Canin. Sheena
My name is Sheena, and I'm 27 years old. I have lived in South Florida for most of my life. I have three cats and one dog of my own – Small Fry, Tater Tot, Lil' Demon, and Maddie (my American Bulldog who is 5 years old and thinks she is a cat!).
I started working at DPC in early 2010 as a kennel assistant. Shortly thereafter I made the transition to the surgery staff. I am now an Assistant Surgery Technician and my job is to prepare and recover pets who are admitted to the clinic for surgical procedures.
Every day at DPC is new and exciting and I am constantly learning. That's the best part of working in this field! I love my job and enjoy what I do on a daily basis.
You can rest assured that while your pet is in our care I will do my best to make sure that he or she is comfortable and well cared for. My priority has always been the safety and well being of all animals, and that is my contribution to DPC!
